Northern Virginia: Last week, the Washington Post explored George Allen’s likely pursuit of a rematch with Sen. Jim Webb, the Democrat who unseated him in 2006, next year -- and the potential that Allen could face a stiff GOP primary challenge from the right.

The Post was smart to play up the likelihood of a primary battle; Allen would only be the latest prominent conservative to be targeted for supposed ideological impurity in this Tea Party era.

But there's a bigger problem with Allen's comeback attempt, o...
Women Will Have Authentic Leaders in Upcoming Congress
Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of the Susan B. Anthony List, has a new article at Politics Daily talking about how women will have real, authentic leadership in the upcoming session of Congress. While pro-abortion women like Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her friends will no longer be calling the shots in the House, new pro-life women will be there and in the Senate who will stand up for the pro-life values a majority of women share. The 2010 Elections represent not just a good result for pro-li...
On The Republicans Being Nuts
Paul Waldman says:
I doubt anyone would deny that at the moment, the Republican Party takes a harsher view of apostasy than their Democratic counterparts. You know, I think I might be tempted to deny it.
Now, I'll agree in one set of cases: Primary Elections in inhospitable states or districts. There, I think we can see a real difference; Democrats in GOP-leaning districts generally try to find a Candidate who can win even if she won't be a reliable vote in Congress, while Republicans tend to ...

At Obamas request, Kaine will stay on as DNC chair (The Ticket)
Tim Kaine announced Sunday he will stay on for another term as chairman of the Democratic National Committee. The former Virginia Governor told CNN's "State of the Union" that President Obama had asked him to remain in the job ahead of the 2012 Campaign.
"He wants me to continue in this spot, and that's what I'm going to do," Kaine told CNN, adding that he looks forward to being the president's "advocate and promoter" during the upcoming Presidential Election.
The DNC chair had been mentioned ...
Mike Huckabee: Hometown Heavyweight
HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas - Although Mike Huckabee burst onto the national scene on the strength of a diet book, Quit Digging Your Grave with a Knife and Fork: A 12-Step Program to End Bad Habits and Begin a Healthy Lifestyle, now that the former Arkansas Governor is preparing for his second run at the GOP nomination, he seems to have regained much of the girth he so famously shed. Still, grass roots Arkansans don't seem to be holding his weight against the backsliding Baptist preacher. At least tha...
HHS Paying Google with Taxpayer $ to Alter 'Obamacare' Search Results
The brazenness of the Obama Administration never ceases to amaze. Try typing "ObamaCare" into Google, and you'll find that the first entry is now the Obama administration's www.healthcare.gov. If you don't particularly like that result, you'll probably hate the fact that you're paying for it. You'll get the same paid-for result if you type in "Obamacare facts," "Obamacare summary," "Obamacare info," "Obamacare overview," "Obamacare questions," "Obamacare explanation," "Obamacare basics," "Obamac...

But the Frum Forum’s Noah Kristula Green suggests that O’Donnell brought down the otherwise healthy Delaware GOP. Some highlights:
The FBI is investigating whether Christine O’Donnell misused campaign funds during her Senate run....

TRENDING: Palin re-tweet raises questions
(CNN) - Normally, it’s what Sarah Palin tweets that makes news. This time though it’s what she has re-tweeted. The former Alaska Governor Monday relayed a comment from gay conservative pundit Tammy Bruce, who was expressing her criticism over continued Republican opposition to the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Military policy that won congressional Repeal late last month. "But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already-the more someone complains about the homo...
Sandy Adams & Dan Webster head to D.C. for first terms
A new era begins for central Florida's Conservatives as Sandy Adams and Daniel Webster head to Washington D.C. to serve their First Terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. On a record-setting election night for Republicans Sandy Adams soundly defeated Incumbent congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas by 20 percentage points in Florida's 24th district. Adams' impressive victory came on the heels of a narrow win over Karen Diebel in a tough primary battle. In Florida's 8th District, Daniel Webster follo...
The Challenge To President Obama The Washington Post Refused To Print: "Fight for Social Security And Medicare"
[Note: The following column was rejected by The Washington Post after two of its regular columnists had done similar op-eds calling for President Obama to cut Social Security and Medicare. There was a time when op-ed pages were used by Newspapers (at least those committed to democratic debate) to get some diversity of opinion into their pages. Apparently the Post doesn't believe in a diversity of opinions or debate when it comes to Social Security and Medicare.]
Within days of Christmas and th...

The email is a sign tha...

Right-wingers don't seem to 'get it': Bashing Latinos makes Tea Parties happy -- and is long-term political suicide
This weekend, Fox News' Julie Banderas featured a segment discussing the way Republicans are gearing up to get nasty and nativist on Immigration this coming year -- particularly in State Legislatures where a batch of anti-14th Amendment "Anchor Baby" laws are about to come bubbling up. She invited on Bob Dane, spokesman for the nativist Hate Group FAIR, and Frank Sharry of America's Voice, who pointed out that Republicans are slitting their own throats politically by taking this route. Banderas:...
State faces tough decisions on Tax Hikes
It seems that Nathan Deal is the natural choice for Tea Parties in Georgia. He is all about not taxing Voters excessively yet, anyway. While Mr.Deal has some tough choices facing him early in his woes of Georgia. In November, voters decided they didn't want to increase car tag fees to pay for a statewide trauma network. Now, some business groups are urging lawmakers to consider other ideas to pay for it. One perennial new revenue source idea still doesn't seem to have much politi...
What a fellowship, what a joy divine
The movie, “True Grit,” is the drama of a small but relentless coterie of citizens, instigated and lead by Miss Mattie, to gain justice for the Murder of her horse trading father, by the coward, Chaney, down in the Arkansas territory sometime after the ‘civil’ war.
It is fitting, I think, that the beginning of the movie incorporates a court scene where one, Rubin (Rooster) Cogburn, an officer of the court (a ‘marshall’) is questioned about his killing of a family of...

Follow the leader
The study of leadership goes back as far as Plato - and still it continues to intrigue psychologists, but what makes a good leader?
Around me were bosses from around the world - from Nigeria to the United Arab Emirates.
We were all attending the leadership development programme at the London Management Centre and grappling with the question - are leaders born or made?
The leadership business is a massive money-spinner - a multi-million pound industry.
But I had arrived for my course with a h...
Schwarzenegger stepping down as California governor
But in a newspaper interview to mark his handover of power to Democrat Jerry Brown -- two months after November 2 polls -- Arnie stood by all his decisions. "The important thing with my job that I've had for the last seven years is, you have to have passion... You can't be afraid," he told the Los Angeles Times newspaper. While he impressed many with his transformation into a liberal Republican and green champion who won Reelection in 2006, his poll Ratings slid in recent years, in line with Cal...

Andrew Reinbach: Do Progressives Have True Grit?
Two of the stories I covered last year for HuffPost are leading me to the depressing conclusion that if this country gets what Talk Radio wants, it'll be the Progressives' fault.
This is not my favorite conclusion. I believe in the common sense of the American People -- I can see you rolling your eyes, you know -- and to my mind that faith, touching as it may be, was rewarded when said People repudiated the Republicans in 2008.
But the two stories I'm talking about -- a series of pieces on the...
