DEMAND CORPORATE TAX ON MILITARY INDUSTRIAL WELFARE RECIPIENTS IN 2011
According to many, " [one] potential area for Bipartisan action in the new [112TH ]Congress may be cutting the massively bloated Pentagon Budget, which has risen to $540 billion annually and more than $700 billion [in the past decade] if you include spending on Iraq and Afghanistan. Total defense spending in real terms is higher than at any point since World War II ."
This is why, when Secretary of Defense Robert Gates announced a series of efficiency proposals to reduce waste in defense spen...
Little Siberia
This is the resort we've all been waiting for. It's a once in a lifetime chance to experience the joys of Collective living in Siberia without the expense of traveling to the Motherland. No need to worry about flight delays or Airport Security. We're just a 15 minute dog sled ride from the local town's 19th century (restored to original) Train Station. Traveling by auto? Our snowy delights are only 45 minutes west of I95. Snow? We've got plenty. We received 6+ inches today. The tundra was alrea...
Connecticut Claims Public Option Could Save State Up To $355 Million In 2014
Connecticut Claims Public Option Could Save State Up To $355 Million In 2014
The Affordable Care Act does not establish a national public option like many progressive would have hoped, but it does allow states to form their own public plans. Today’s Politico’s Pulse reports that Connecticut is aiming to do just that, and a new report from a state board to the General Assembly argues that such an option could save Connecticut Taxpayers up to $355 million in 2014.
The option, calle...
The lobby has been broken because Israel isnt good for the Jews
A few months back, young Brandon Davis, writing thrillingly in the Daily Princetonian, blamed the American Jewish community en bloc for the crimes of Israel--
[J]ust as it is fair to criticize Israeli policies, it is fair to criticize its apologists — groups that claim to represent the entire American Jewish community. American Jews have traditionally been at the forefront of progressive movements. But in recent years, American Jewish institutions have trended toward the ugly side of Zionism...

Quick! To the Agendamobile!
The Netroots Nation convention in Minneapolis is only five months away. The suspense is building and the call is officially out for panel ideas:
Last year, we hosted a panel, featuring Sen. Tom Udall, that laid the ground work for the Senate rules reform. The many sessions on Immigration Reform helped to educate the broader movement about the importance of the issue. And the dialog that happened between Sen. Harry Reid and Lt. Dan Ch...
The assault on ethnic studies is unwise and undemocratic
As a Professor of Ethnic Studies, I feel under assault.
At the beginning of this year, Arizona’s HB 2281 targeting ethnic studies in Tucson’s Public School system went into effect. For those of us who teach ethnic studies — for all educators — this ban represents a call to arms.
Of course, I mean that figuratively. HB 2281 apparently does not.
The bill prohibits K-12 classes that “promote the overthrow of the United States government.”
Seriously?
Without such a law, I sup

Feminist Left Blames Masculinity, Misogyny & Christine ODonnell for AZ Shooting
It didn’t take long for the fembots to come up with their own fantasy motivation behind the Arizona shooting. It was “woman-hating,” you see. It doesn’t matter that men were also targeted and killed (because that wouldn’t fit the theory.) “Feminists” see Misogyny in everything. It is possible that Jared Loughner hated women. More likely, he hated Gabrielle Giffords for unknown and invalid reasons. But The Progressive feminists have come up with a new w...
EU envoy sticks a fork in 2SS
From a DailyKos commenter, via Annie:
EU Envoy report in full [.pdf]. It describes how Israel is implementing "The Progressive separation of East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank" and concludes that "Israel is, by legal and practical means, actively pursuing its annexation by systematically undermining the Palestinian presence in the city". It warns that if these trends aren't quickly reversed the prospects of E. Jerusalem becoming the capital of a Palestinian state - that is, the pros...

Why Canadians will head to the polls in 2011
Will we or won’t we have a federal election this year? Given the structure of Canada’s parliamentary system and our minority government situation, that’s a question no one can answer with any real certainty, not even Party Leaders. However, I will make a fearless prediction: watch for Prime Minister Stephen Harper to pull every trick to ensure Canadians do go the polls this spring. Why? Well, for the simple reason that Harper’s main enemy isn’t the opposition, it...
Power shifts to center in S.F. politics
Ten years after a left-leaning progressive majority swept into power on the Board of Supervisors, the political muscle moved closer to the center Saturday when Supervisor David Chiu won a second term as board president.
If the Board of Supervisors, as expected, appoints City Administrator Ed Lee as interim mayor Tuesday to fill out the year remaining on Lt. Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom's term as mayor, the two top political jobs in San Francisco will be held by Asian Americans - a historic first.

Ed Lee the best pick - noted here 1st
The guy who's enjoying life more than anyone right now is Gavin Newsom.
After seven years in office, he finally bested the left in this town with the likely ascension of City Administrator Ed Lee as interim mayor.
I don't care what The Progressive supervisors say publicly - the very idea of Newsom's pick winning is driving them crazy.
As for my role in the whole play?
Yes, I do believe that Lee was the best pick. I do not believe, as evidenced by the last election, that the left has a citywid...

Downsize it before it upsizes
George Will has a piece on Fred Upton:
almost everyone agrees with this: The government is dysfunctional and the Internet is splendid. But last month, the Democratic-controlled Federal Communications Commission, on a partisan 3-2 vote, did what a Federal Court says it has no power to do: It decided to regulate the Internet in the name of “Net Neutrality.” The next morning, a man who can discipline the FCC said: Well, we’ll just see about that. “We are going to be a dog ...
The Abandonment Of Liberalism
Once Liberalism was the dominant political philosophy in the United States. Its hold was so strong that the Red-Baiter Richard Nixon claimed to advocate “practical liberalism”. It is now crashingly clear that this period of American political life is over.
Liberalism had its own philosophers, chief among them John Rawls. In his book A Theory of Justice, Rawls began with a thought experiment on the origins of a society. Of course, we didn’t create our society, nor did we create its rules.

Jared Loughner is registered as an independent and last voted in the 2008
Doug Ross has a summary of information from various sources around the ‘net about the nutjob Jared Loughner. On twitter, Left Wing nut jobs are passing around a photoshopped image of Loughner’s voting information. Of course, the only way one would obtain access to this information is if they had Loughner’s voter ID number or driver’s license number. As you would expect, the photoshopped image bein...
Revolutionary from the Rust Belt
Consensus is scarce but almost everyone agrees with this: The government is dysfunctional, and the Internet is splendid. But last month, the Democratic-controlled Federal Communications Commission, on a partisan 3-2 vote, did what a Federal Court says it has no power to do: It decided to regulate the Internet in the name of ``Net Neutrality.'' Get Progressively Trained
As someone who has been involved somewhat in the punditry circuit (for lack of a better term), I have been asked by progressive friends what I think is needed for the Left to compete with the Right, not so much in the war of ideas, as idea distribution. To begin with, we need people who can confidently promote progressive values on television and radio. While the last decade has seen the creation and expansion of progressive Think Tanks, Air America Radio (an incubator of such talent as Rachel ...
Tucson Tragedy Link Round-up: Pushing Back Left-Wing Lies
G.I. Wood Shop Inc. Mrs. Peel Oh…My Valve! V The K’s Caption This! An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later. The first reaction of normal Americans upon hearing the news of the horrific Tucson massacre was shock and sadness. Six people are dead, including a Federal Judge and a nine year old girl. A United States congresswoman was shot in the head at point blank range, and is struggling to recover after being initially reported dead. Eighteen people were injur...
Malkin: The progressive climate of hate"
Michelle Malkin:The Tuscon massacre ghouls who are now trying to criminalize Conservatism have forced our hand.
They need to be reminded. You need to be reminded.
Confront them. Dont be cowed into silence.
And dont let the media whitewash the sins of the hypocritical Left in their naked attempt to suppress the law-abiding, constitutionally-protected, peaceful, vigorous Political Speech of the Right.

They Asked For It, They Got It. The Hatred And Hypocrisy From The Left, Displayed
I was waiting for this and after reading some of the idiocy being spouted from the Far Left liberal media and blogosphere it didn't take long for Conservatives to buck up and say, wait just one damn minute you hypocrites.
Quick Background:
A tragic massacre in Arizona where a Federal Judge, a nine year old child and four other people were murdered. 19 people were injured in total and a congresswoman from Arizona, Gabrielle Giffords, is in critical condition, fighting for her life after being s...
