Federal Bureau of Investigation: Only two of the four bodies dumped on a windswept highway near Jones Beach State Park on Long Island have been identified, but the close proximity has both the Suffolk County police force and the Federal Bureau of Investigations alleging a link in the cases.

The pattern of dumping, authorities say, over a period of 18 months is consistent with the work of a single person, especially because of their close proximity, notes the New York Daily News.

Other reports indicate that at least two of the bodies may be Prostitutes or escorts, including Shannon Gilbert and Megan Waterman.

Waterman was last seen about 15 miles from the dump site, but authorities gave up the case after months of searching .

It is not yet believed that the attacks that led to the Murders were carried out on Long Island.

Whether there will be increasing assistance from the FBI is also up for debate, though local police indicated that forensics help may be necessary.
