Ezra Klein: It's old man. Conservatives (thanks in large part to the Tea Party movement) have promoted awareness of the Constitution to the American People, natural rights, limited governmental power.

So the MFM must try to marginalize it. Klein must have skimmed over the part about "effective techniques" in the talking points memo, and instead chose the brainy approach, "nobody can understand what it means because it'...
Video Of Liberal Star Blogger Ezra Klein: Constitution Has No Binding Power on Anything; Confusing Because its Over 100 Years Ol
The beauty of the US Constitution is it's so simple that anyone even today cab read it and understand what it means. Since for the liberal words are abstract concepts only and mean whatever they want them to mean, I suppose it's understandable that they get confused:
"He's their best and brightest." This is exactly why liberals have unmoored us from that document. They don't find it confusing. Rather, they confuse and twist the words to mean something entirely different than what is written. Mo...
No one's buying your pathetic excuses, Ezra Klein: progressives are the enemies of the Constitution as surely as night follows d
Washington Post JournoList Ezra Klein laid several eggs during a gaffe-filled interview on MSNBC earlier today. Because the cable channel's Ratings now trail reruns of Gilligan's Island and Hospital sonograms, no one would have known except for the heroes over at NewsBusters. They took the bullet for the rest of us and transcribed his statements regarding the new House requirement to read the Constitution at the start of the session. Among his remarks were these timeless gems: [The Constitution...
Liberal Pundit Says U.S. Constitution is Confusing because it was Written More than 100 Years Ago Video 12/30/10
Here is video of liberal Ezra Klein actually saying today that the U.S. Constitution “is confusing because it was written more than a hundred years ago.”
Klein made the remarks in response to news that the new GOP-controlled House of Representatives is going to begin the new session of Congress by (gasp!) reading the United States Constitution out loud!
No, Ezra - the Constitution is not “confusing,” and it was actually written more than 200 years ago! It is just ...
Ezra Klein Tries To Explain His Way Out Of Saying The Constitution Isnt Binding
WAPO’s Leftist columnist Ezra Klein today:
This morning, I gave a quick interview to MSNBC where I made, I thought, some fairly banal points on the GOP’s plan to honor the Constitution by having it read aloud on the House floor. Asked if it was a gimmick, I replied that it was, because, well, it is. It’s our founding document, not a spell that makes the traitors among us glow green. It’s also, I noted, a completely nonbinding act: It doesn’t impose a particular i...
Ezra Klein Clarifies Constitution Comments: When A Lot Of People Misunderstand You at once, The Fault Is Usually Yours
Man, people have not been having an easy time expressing their thoughts on TV these days. This morning Ezra Klein was on MSNBC trying to elaborate the many ways that the GOP plan of reading the Constitution aloud in Congress was but “a gimmick.” However, in many people’s views, his comments were boiled down to the Constitution being “confusing” and “nonbinding.” Like Professor Melissa Harris-Perry before him, Klein has taken to the Internet to clarify hi...
Strict Constitutionalists
The Wingnut Wurlitzer has been piling on Ezra Klein for a couple of bland remarks he made about the GOP's silly gimmick of having the Constitution read on the House floor when they reconvene and he does some follow-up posts in the aftermath. Ezra makes a good point about Constitutional interpretation in light of the equally silly notion that adding a Constitutional Authority to all bills will make any difference:
To presume that people writing what they think the Constitution means -- or, in ...
Ezra Klein Less Well-Educated Than Thought
Twitter users have been ripping Ezra Klein apart for his dim-witted pronouncement that the Constitution is too difficult to understand because the document was written "more than 100 years ago."
The thing is Klein isn't nearly done on displaying his ignorance of the Constitution, baring his ignorance for all to see in print as well.
My friends on the right don't like to hear this, but the Constitution is not a clear document. Written more than 200 years ago, when America had 13 states and very...

Constitutional Utopia
The field of Constitutional Law has always featured a great deal of what’s known as “motivated belief” where people look at the document and tend to see it as supporting their preexisting policy conclusions. Ezra Klein had a great post on this yesterday. Since the 111th Congress saw Democratic control of the House of Representatives, Democratic control of the Senate, and Democratic control of the White House paired with an overwhelming Republican preponderance in the federal ...

WaPos Ezra Klein: The Constitution Is Confusing Because It Was Written More Than 100 Years Ago
MSNBC’s favorite policy wonk, well at least host Norah O’Donnell’s favorite wonk, liberal Washington Post reporter Ezra Klein was asked to comment whether Republicans reading the Constitution aloud in the next session of Congress was merely a gimmick. Klein said it was, but also elaborated on his view of how the Constitution is interpreted.
Klein’s view of the Constitution’s complexity:
The issue with the Constitution is not that people don’t read the text and th...
Ezra Klein wonders what good a Constitutional cite will do on future legislation
Ezra Klein got himself in a bit of hot water by saying some things about the Constitution that appear to have been misinterpreted. He originally commented on the subject while talking about the new GOP rule that requires a Constitutional reference be put on every bit of Legislation offered to, one assumes, prove it’s Constitutional viability. Unfortunately, it isn’t Congress which gets to decide what is or isn’t Constitutional.
The old saying, “the Constitution says what
WaPo's Ezra Klein: Constitution Has No Binding Power on Anything (video)
WaPo's Ezra Klein is only saying what liberals have believed for a long time. The Constitution is an archaic document that has "No Binding Power on Anything." In other words, the Constitution should mean what liberal judges interpret it to mean. ...

MORE Ezra Klein Constitution Mockery. Plus, from the comments: “I notice that the article has been edited and now says that the Constitution was written more than 200 years ago, which makes Klein look like less of a putz. If you didn’t know what the original version said, then the first comment about the Constitution not being written in 1910 would make no sense at all.”

Washington Post Columnist: The Constitution Is Too Hard To Understand
Well, too hard for us mere citizens says Ezra Klein, because the document was written “more than a hundred years ago.” Which kind of makes me question Klein as a constitutional scholar, because our US Constitution was adopted by a convention in Philadelphia in 1787 and ratified by the last state in the union at the time (Rhode Island) in 1790, both dates being well over 200 years ago. I actually think there is a concerted effort among liberals to make law and government extremely com...
Outgoing GOP congressman: 'Credible conservatives' not about Obama 'hatred'
Outgoing Rep. Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) said Thursday that a "credible conservative" movement that doesn't focus on "hatred" of President Obama is needed.
Inglis was defeated in a landslide by Trey Gowdy in the June primary runoff. Gowdy, a staunch conservative and Tea Party favorite, went on to win the 4th District seat in November.
Inglis lamented on CNN that the current wave of Populist conservativism is unlike that of Ronald Reagan.
"We'll get through and we'll get back to optimistic conservatis...
Constitutional Know-Nothings
The 112th Congress has an unprecedented plan. They are going to read the Constitution-the document that each member will swear to uphold-aloud on their first day. When asked on MSNBC to comment, Washington Post writer Ezra Klein replied “It’s a gimmick. I mean, you can say two things about it. One, is that it has no binding power on anything. And two, the issue of the Constitution is not that people don’t read the text and think they’re following. The issue of the Const...

Ezra Klein on How the Obama Administration Needs to Become More Partisan
Ezra Klein
Ezra Klein - What sort of loser should Obama be?: Recently, Jonathan Bernstein asked liberals, “As the 111th Congress winds down, what’s your biggest disappointment of the things you expected to happen?” Mike Konczal gives his answer:
I expected Obama to be a better loser, specifically to be better at losing. There were a lot of items on the table, a lot of them weren’t going to happen, but it was important for the new future of Liberalism that the Obama team...
Ezra Klein: Who speaks for the Republicans?
When the inevitable showdown between the revived Republican Party and the Obama White House occurs, who will speak for the Republicans? In 1994, they had Bob Dole and Newt Gingrich, both of whom were nationally credible leaders, at least at the time. But looking through Gallup's "most admired" poll, Republicans haven't coalesced around any similarly serious names -- or really anyone at all.
The most admired man in America, by a wide margin, is Barack Obama. Three of the four most-ad...
State audit faults Chaumont on fiscal oversight
CHAUMONT — A state audit of the village government found that the Board of Trustees lacks fiscal Oversight of village accounts and that the board must segregate the duties of the village clerk/treasurer to improve Internal Controls.
"Although our review of cash receipts and disbursements did not identify any significant exceptions, without adequate segregation of duties, the risk is increased that funds could be misappropriated without detection or correction," said the audit report, whi...
Michele Bachmann: 'Snotty' Gore Vidal Novel Made Me Realize I Was a Republican
From TPM -- Bachmann: 'Snotty' Gore Vidal Novel Turned Me Republican! (VIDEO): Gore Vidal, what have you done? At a Speech to Michigan Republicans on Tuesday, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) -- the darling of the Tea Party right -- told an amazing story about how she shed her youthful Democratic roots and became a Republican. As she told the tale, her political conversion was because of her disgust at a "snotty" Gore Vidal novel that satirized the Founding Fathers. "Until I was reading this snotty ...
GOP theater: Now starring the U.S. Constitution
By Nicholas Wilbur
Republicans take control of the lower branch of Congress on January 5. On January 6, members of the new Republican-controlled House will do what no Congress member has done in the entire history of the country: they will read the United States Constitution from start to finish.
If it sounds like a new age of honor and accountability in politics is on the horizon, don't be fooled.
Republican leaders plan to emphasize their vigor in carrying the water for this nouveau wave ...
