U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, the No. 3-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House, said Wednesday he will not support his party’s nominee for the U.S. Senate, Alvin Greene, when he goes into the voting booth Nov. 2.

Morgan Bruce Reeves, who is running for Governor as the Candidate of the Green and United Citizens parties, said he will Protest Wednesday in front of the Strom Thurmond Federal Building in downtown Columbia calling for the name of the late U.S. senator to be removed from the building.
"What he did was a disgrace," Reeves said of Thurmond, a white man who secretly fathered a child with a 16-year-old black servant.
