Giants Fans Smoke Weed, Watch Baseball
SAN Francisco - When Rangers Josh Hamilton told reporters he could smell a whiff of marijuana in the outfield during Games 1 and 2, he wasn't joking about his old days of Drug Abuse. Marijuana, which is legal for many people with medical issues, is so commonplace in many parts of California that few Law Enforcement agencies bother to Crack Down on casual users any more. FOX 4 anchor Steve Eagar met several smokers who weren't shy about displaying their buds for the TV cameras. Watch his video to...
Schwarzenegger to Ammiano: 'Y-o-u A-r-e W-e-l-c-o-me'
Last year, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger put in an acrostic curse word when vetoing Legislation by Democratic Assemblyman Tom Ammiano of San Francisco dealing with complex “infrastructure financing districts.”
This year, the Governor had a change of heart and signed what appears to be nearly identical Ammiano Legislation, AB 1199.
And he showed Ammiano a little more love in a personalized acrostic signing message:
Y early, I have reflected upon the various pieces of legislat...

Will Durst: Don't Vote
Don't Vote. You don't have to. No one's going to make you. This isn't the Soviet Union. You won't be forced from your beds and dragged to the polls against your Wills. Relax. Take a chill pill. Let it go. It'll all be fine without you.
Things are pretty good the way they are, aren't they? Well, okay, some stuff could be better. Then again, could be worse. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And if it is broke, leave it alone; who knows, maybe it'll fix itself. Or let someone who knows what they'r...
Blink On Crime - Kyron Horman Case Update: Blinkoncrime.com Legal Analyst Lea Conner Weighs In
Although I am not licensed in Oregon, I grew up there and was a news reporter for several years in that State, during which time I covered the cops and Courts beat. My practice in Washington State deals in Family Law matters. As such, I can comment as to my knowledge of Family Law and court proceedings, but my comments are general analysis, not legal advice. Kaine Horman’s pleadings of October 25, 2010, unleashed a tempest of charges against his wife, claiming she was a raging drunk whose ...

You may not find out that someone is using your number until you are ...

The latter — the work of an anonymous group — is now being scrutinized by the San Francisco Ethics Commission. On Saturday, the group Sidewalks Are for People, which is pushing to defeat Prop. L, began a one-week...

Doesn’t get any more corrupt than this…
F or the past 10 years Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) has been playing a game that would make Jack Abramoff blush, a game that can best be described using the language of “Get Smart’s” Maxwell Smart as “the ole family-profiting-off-of-the-Indian-tribe-that-you-created trick.”
Here’s the story.
In 1998, Lynn Woolsey introduced Legislation reinstating an Indian Tribe in the wine country of Northern California that had bee

Can we call this burgeoning Scandal Boxer-gate yet? After all, when a Democrat finds a way to secretively transfer $8 million in cold cash to her son using unabashed power in the Senate -- which is what The Hill alleges that Barbara Boxer did -- then it seems an apt title indeed. Step 1: Find a defunct American Indian Tribe that officially ceased to exist decades ago. Step 2: Jam Legislation through that reinstate the Tribe and discretely tack on an amendment that gives the Tribe the right to op...

SB 1070’s legality is set to be debated Monday in a San Francisco appeals Court. An investigation by National Public Radio has brought to light that Arizona’s Controversial Immigration law SB 1070 was partly drafted by Prison companies that were set to make significant gains from the criminalization of immigrants in the state. The companies also helped pass the Legislation, NPR said. The investigation claims that what campaign finance reports, lobbying documents and corporate record...

In Which We Learn That It Is Unwise to Drink and Handle Snakes
Do not be fooled by this Vietnamese cobra wine--snakes and Alcohol do not mix. One of the first things you learn as a science writer is that even the driest-seeming research papers can hide incredible stories. Sometimes, you just have to look hard. Other times, the story will reach right out of the pages of the journal and grab you by the neck. I recently discovered a research article that did just that. The paper, published in the journal Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, is called “Joseph ...
